Confident Kids!

Confident Kids! creates beautiful memories for foster children while instilling within them confidence and leadership skills.

Confident Kids! is designed to focus on foster children, ages 8–12, and partners with Children in Crisis — a local 501(c)(3) non-profit that provides a home to abused, neglected, and abandoned children in our community.

1st Saturdays

Each month, on the first Saturday, volunteers gather the children for a new outing. Past events have included scavenger hunts at Fred Gannon Rocky Bayou State Park and a hands-on financial literacy day — the “Money Game,” where children borrowed seed money from a pretend bank and then chose to either invest it or spend it on toys, with the simulation running over several days so the consequences played out. Small, recurring, intentional. Confidence is built one good day at a time.

What volunteers bring

  • Time — typically one Saturday a month.
  • Energy and patience to be present with the kids.
