We rebuilt the site

For most of its life, this site has lived inside a WordPress install that, like many small non-profits’ websites, grew faster than the organization itself. Plugins on plugins, an unused shop, a page builder that didn’t survive its own updates. Earlier this year we found the site had been compromised by an automated spam injection — hundreds of pages of nonsense had been quietly added to our archive.

So we rebuilt.

The new site is a static one. No database, no plugins, no shop, no admin panel for someone to break into at three in the morning. It loads almost instantly, and every page is a single HTML document you can read in a text editor.

Most importantly, it returns the focus to the work: maternal safety, midwifery transparency, and the children of our Confident Kids! program.

We’ll be posting here in the months ahead — partner notes, legislative updates, and dispatches from our outings. Welcome back.
